Navigating Weather in the Tropics

All our tours are outdoor adventures in a tropical climate where rain showers are common and expected. This policy explains how Phi Phi Tours handles different weather conditions to keep everyone safe and informed. By booking with us, you acknowledge that rain alone is not a reason for cancellation or refund unless the tour operator cancels for safety reasons.

Rain & General Weather Conditions

Rain is a natural and frequent part of the tropical experience. Tours will proceed as scheduled in light to moderate rain, provided sea and wind conditions remain safe for travel. Our captains continuously monitor weather forecasts and sea conditions to ensure your safety.

Customer-Initiated Cancellations: If a guest decides not to join a tour due to rain, but the operator deems it safe and continues as planned, the standard cancellation policy applies — refunds are not issued in these cases.

The Cancellation Decision

The final decision to operate or cancel rests with the individual tour operator, as vessel types and safety tolerances vary. A larger modern speedboat may safely operate when a smaller longtail boat cannot.

If the operator determines the tour will proceed, it is considered safe to do so. Guests who choose not to join in this case are not eligible for refunds.

Company Override: Phi Phi Tours reserves the right to override an operator’s decision if safety concerns arise. In such cases, if we cancel the tour for safety, guests will receive a full refund.

Official Government & Marine Department Warnings

If the Thai Marine Department, National Parks, or any government authority issues a formal warning or prohibition against sea travel, all affected tours will be cancelled. These directives override operator decisions. Guests will receive either a full refund or the option to reschedule.

Alternative Tour Options

Sometimes weather may affect one area while another remains calm and safe. When possible, we may offer an alternative tour or route on the same day. These alternatives are optional and depend on availability.

Cancellations for Unsafe Conditions

If weather conditions are officially deemed unsafe — such as strong winds, high waves, or marine warnings — the tour will be cancelled for safety reasons. Weather cancellations are handled on a case-by-case basis. Alternative tour dates and route depend on the specific circumstances surrounding a cancellation.

Your Options:

Full Refund: Receive a 100% refund of your tour price.
Reschedule: Move your tour to another available date at no extra cost.
Alternative Tour: Change your tour programe to vist a differnt location.
