About This Tour

Join us for the ultimate Phi Phi Islands & Maya Bay Sunrise Tour, a once-in-a-lifetime experience brought to you by the fun and experienced crew at PP Local Tours. As an independent company run by native Phi Phi locals, we know exactly how to time our trip to ensure you see Maya Bay before the crowds arrive.

Since this early bird tour departs directly from Koh Phi Phi Don, it is exclusively for guests staying on the island, giving us a massive head start over the day trips coming from Phuket or Krabi. Our travel time to the bay is less than 20 minutes, meaning we are more often than not the very first boat to drop anchor, allowing you to experience the magic of the islands while others are still sleeping.

Your morning begins with a convenient self-check-in at our location in town, where meeting details are provided upon booking. To fuel your adventure, a light breakfast including coffee, tea, and traditional Thai doughnuts (Patong-Go) will be available before we depart.

Our first priority is always Maya Bay, where you will have the chance to capture that perfect photo of the famous beach in the soft morning light while successfully avoiding the crowds. For your convenience, National Park fees are included in the price, saving you 400 Thai Baht per person so you can focus entirely on the stunning scenery. Please note that during August and September, or at any time the National Park Department restricts beach access, we will ensure you still get incredible photo opportunities from the front of the bay instead.

This 4-hour program offers much more than just the Maya Bay sunrise tour; it is packed with highlights around Koh Phi Phi Leh. While our expert team will customize the route based on the day’s marine conditions to ensure safety, a typical itinerary features the breathtaking Pilleh (Blue) Lagoon, the historic Viking Cave, and Loh Samah Bay. You will also visit Monkey Beach to see the wild Macaque monkeys roaming free on the sand. Snorkeling equipment is provided for everyone, and we aim to include at least one, but usually two or more, snorkeling stops so you can explore the vibrant underwater world, depending on the sea conditions and group preferences.

The tour route is subject to change. In a marine environment, safety is the highest priority, and the exact route and itinerary are dependent on natural conditions.

How Many People

This is a shared tour with other guests. We select the best boat for the day based on the number of bookings. This may be a single, twin, or triple engine boat, depending on the marine conditions and the number of guests. As a result, the group size may vary each day. Please be assured that we always make sure the number of passengers does not exceed the boat’s licensed capacity, and every guest will have a comfortable seat.

Snorkeling

Snorkeling is included in the tour. A mask and snorkel set will be provided for you to use at no extra cost. The mask and snorkel must be returned after the tour. On average, this tour usually includes one to two snorkeling stops around Koh Phi Phi Leh.

Food & Drinks

A light breakfast is included when we check-in with tea, Coffee and snacks such as Patong-Go Thai Doughnuts. Bottled drinking water is provided for free on the boat throughout the tour.

Places We Can See

This is not a fixed itinerary. It is a list of places we will attempt to visit each day. Please keep in mind that we may not be able to visit all the planned locations on every day of the tour. Seasonal factors or ANY REASON can affect our route, the route may vary throughout the year. Some sites, (like Maya Bay Beach), may be closed seasonaly or without notice. Additionally, access to some places may be limited during low tides or due to weather conditions. We strive to visit as many places as possible. However, we cannot guarantee that all locations will be accessible every day. No refunds will be issued if we cannot visit a location due to reasons outside of our control. The route may be changed at any time for any reason. Stops are listed in no particular order.

Refunds and Cancellations:

All reservations are non-refundable if canceled by the customer, unless the cancellation is requested with at least 2 days notice (50% refund, or a full refund with 30 or more days notice). We strongly advise that the customer has their own travel insurance policy in case the customer needs to cancel the tour at the last-minute due to medical reasons. Customer complaints will be taken seriously but shall not be cause to receive a refund. If the tour is cancelled by the operator due to safety concerns the guest will receive a full refund - tours are not cancelled due to rain. Weather:

All our tours are considered outdoor activities and do not get cancelled due to rain. Tours will be cancelled only if sea conditions, wave heights, or sea swell are deemed as unsafe by the National Parks Departments. If the tour is operating as normal but you choose to cancel outside of the agreeable period then no refunds will be issued.

Health and Age:

The minimum age to partake in any of our tours is three (3) years old. Our tours are not suitable for infants. The maximum age is seventy years old. Those aged between sixty and seventy must have their own travel insurance. All travellers must be in good physical health. Pregnant individuals, those with heart or back problems, are not permitted to book any tours - no exceptions. Travellers with disabilities needing assistance should contact us before booking to ensure suitability.

Travel Insurance:

All tours sold by Phi Phi Island Tours Company include standard accident insurance as required by Thai Law. The provided insurance meets all legal requirements, although coverage is limited to catastrophic events. It does not protect against personal injuries, damage to personal belongings, or cancellations due to illness. We strongly recommend that travellers obtain their own travel insurance for additional coverage. Safety Wing Thailand is our recommended provider, allowing coverage to be purchased even during a trip.

Reasonable Expectations:

We ask that travellers keep an open mind when booking tours in this region, it's important to understand that some things are out of our control. We cannot control the weather, if you're travelling in the rainy season; rain is expected. We cannot control the animals, there is no guarantee you will see Reef Sharks, Turtles, Monkeys, Glowing Plankton or any other creature. We cannot control other people; our tours visit popular destinations and crowds are expected, especially during the peak season months. We cannot control the tides or the ocean, and on occasion some locations will be inaccessible.

Meeting Info:

Please take a moment to ensure the start location of a tour that matches the location you'll be staying. For tours which start on Koh Phi Phi, you must arrange your own transport and accommodation to the island. Phi Phi and Phuket are not the same place. If you stay in Phuket please do not book tours which start on Phi Phi. Refunds are not provided for reservations booked with an incorrect start location.

Do You Need a Tour Guide?:

Longtail Boat Captains cannot speak English. Guided tours offer the best experience with a knowledgeable, licensed English-speaking guide who can provide detailed information about the sights. Unguided tours are more budget-friendly but are operated by local boat captains who can only speak very basic English, and will not be able to provide information about the places you visit.

Low Tides and Tour Locations:

We strive to visit all the locations mentioned; however, it is not always possible, and we cannot guarantee that we will visit every location each day. We cannot control nature or the sea—low tides may prevent access to certain places like Pileh Lagoon, and sea conditions might sometimes require us to skip a spot for safety reasons. Kindly understand that no refunds can be offered if we are unable to visit a specific location.
