Come and hunt for big game fish in the waters around Phi Phi Island. Spend the day paired with a local longtail boat owner-and-captain and learn the local ways of the water passed down by generations in southern Thailand. This trip lasts for around 5 hours, however it may be longer or shorter depending on how frequently you’re catching, what you're catching, and your personal preferences too.
Lunch is not included, it is recommended to buy some snacks or a packed lunch on the land before leaving, there will be drinking water provided on the boat.
Choose a half day or full day fishing trip by longtail boat where you can use live bait, spinners and trolling to try your luck catching Marlin, Mahi-Mahi and Barracuda, Mackerel, and Tuna. The Marlin is one of the most prized fish in these waters, and can reach weights of up to 30kg.
We can't guarantee that you'll catch, but there's a high chance that you will. All the fishermen we work with are local to the Phi Phi Islands, Krabi and other nearby islands. They have the best knowledge on the equipment to use, and the spots to visit.
All the equipment needed is provided, including rods and hooks. Spinners are used for small fish bait, squid, mackerel and tuna. Live bait is used for bigger fish. A maximum of three participants can book this tour. Larger groups are not suitable as lines would become tangled.
You'll be able to cook and eat anything you catch; such as Tuna, on the boat. And if you're lucky enough to catch something bigger (like a Marlin) these fish are usually given to local restaurants to ensure nothing goes to waste.
This tour is best suited for those who have some previous fishing experience, but beginners are also welcome to book.
It's important to know that on this trip you'll be paired with a local fishing captain who will only be able to speak very basic and limited English. An English speaking guide can join the tour on request, with an additional cost. It's also important to understand that live bait will be used on this fishing trip and catch-and-release is not practiced.
Non-Thai citizens must pay an admission fee to enter Noppharat Thara Mu Koh Phi Phi National Marine Park. This fee is not included in your tour price and will be collected separately.
Reservations are required for this tour. Please book in advance as walk-ins cannot be accommodated. This information is provided so you can plan your arrival at the meeting location. Please do not book tours starting on Phi Phi if you stay in Phuket.
