Sawanu Travel
Reach the Similan Islands in the cool, quiet early morning on Sawanu Travel's early bird tour from Khao Lak. After an early pick-up from your Khao Lak hotel, the premium speed catamaran leaves Thap Lamu Pier between 6:30 and 7:00, ahead of most day-trip boats, and you're back at the pier by mid-afternoon.
The day includes the white sand of Donald Duck Bay and the short, steep climb to the Sail Rock viewpoint on Island No. 8, snorkelling over coral at Koh Ba-Ngu and Koh Payu, where you may see tropical fish and sea turtles, and lunch at a local restaurant on Koh Miang, with time on its beach.
The tour includes hotel transfers from Khao Lak, a certified English-speaking guide, Similan national park fees, lunch, snorkelling equipment with a new mouthpiece, drinks and snacks on board, life jackets and travel insurance. The Similan Islands are open from 15 October to 15 May each year.
Please note: the order of the stops, and sometimes the stops themselves, can change on the day with the weather, the tides and sea conditions. Your guide always chooses the safest and best route for the day.
This is a shared tour with other people. The exact boat for the day is chosen based on the number of bookings and the marine conditions, so the group size may vary. We ensure the boat is never overcrowded and that every guest has a comfortable seat with plenty of room to enjoy the tour.
This boat has licensed English Speaking Guide. Please request in advance for Russian or Chinese Speaking Guide.
You can climb the short, steep path to the Sail Rock viewpoint on Island No. 8. The national park can close the viewpoint in bad weather; there is no refund if it is closed.
This tour includes snorkeling at least one location, and often there are several snorkel stops. The operator provides a new mouthpiece for each person.
Lunch at a local restaurant on Island No. 4, Koh Miang. Drinking water, drinks and snacks are served on board.

So rest assured that when you book with us, you're guaranteed the lowest possible price. If you think we've made a mistake, and you've found the same tour being sold online for a lower price, let us know. We're so confident in our value that if you find the same tour sold online for less, we won't just match it; we'll refund DOUBLE (x2) the price difference!

Tours will be cancelled only if sea conditions, wave heights, or sea swell are deemed as unsafe by the National Parks Departments. If the tour is operating as normal but you choose to cancel outside of the agreeable period then no refunds will be issued.

The provided insurance meets all legal requirements, although coverage is limited to catastrophic events. We strongly recommend that travellers obtain their own travel insurance for additional coverage. Safety Wing Thailand is our recommended provider, allowing coverage to be purchased even during a trip.
Buy Travel Insurance for ThailandWe ask that travellers keep an open mind when booking tours in this region, it's important to understand that some things are out of our control. We cannot control the weather, if you're travelling in the rainy season; rain is expected. We cannot control the animals, there is no guarantee you will see Reef Sharks, Turtles, Monkeys, Glowing Plankton or any other creature. We cannot control other people; our tours visit popular destinations and crowds are expected, especially during the peak season months. We cannot control the tides or the ocean, and on occasion some locations will be inaccessible.
Please take a moment to ensure the start location of a tour that matches the location you'll be staying. For tours which start on Koh Phi Phi, you must arrange your own transport and accommodation to the island. Phi Phi and Phuket are not the same place. If you stay in Phuket please do not book tours which start on Phi Phi. Refunds are not provided for reservations booked with an incorrect start location.
Longtail Boat Captains cannot speak English. Guided tours offer the best experience with a knowledgeable, licensed English-speaking guide who can provide detailed information about the sights. Unguided tours are more budget-friendly but are operated by local boat captains who can only speak very basic English, and will not be able to provide information about the places you visit.
We strive to visit all the locations mentioned; however, it is not always possible, and we cannot guarantee that we will visit every location each day. We cannot control nature or the sea—low tides may prevent access to certain places like Pileh Lagoon, and sea conditions might sometimes require us to skip a spot for safety reasons. Kindly understand that no refunds can be offered if we are unable to visit a specific location.
